This was a technique that many guides list as a method of fabric manipulation, requiring folding, measuring, very neat machining, and I was not really interested. Precision in terms of measured accuracy is not a real motivator for me. However I thought I should try it. I chose bold coloured cotton, having 3 layers. But actually, the outcome is very striking. A perfectionist would want me to sew down the edges, or to hem them against fray. But I like the frayed edges and the curves that are revealed. The central attempt is not very good, it requires more precise care than I took (wanted to take), and it does not attract. But the flowing lines of either side are fun and very colour-particular.

Better than expected in impact.
