I am in a state of awe and wonder in the first part of the BA in Textiles. After a lifetime of trying to do things by order, seeking accuracy rather than creativity, and living with a family of scientists and engineers, it is so exciting to take chances, create, reflect on the awesomeness of the world around us.
My background is in teaching new immigrants and refugees in a variety of settings, and I have been privileged to live for extended time in the UK, France, Denmark, Canada and now in Bahrain. The breathtaking power of the Rockies, and now the dusty, sandy atmosphere of Bahrain with its subtle beauty in islamic architecture, the pure colour of rural France are such powerful environments.
I am so lucky. It will be interesting to see how I can develop skills and understanding to reflect some of these experiences.
I have been a weaver for many years and love all forms of textile expression. I have also studied Interior Design. A Creative Approach is taking me out of boxes and into serendipity and discernment.
